How do you keep your kids learning throughout the summer, instead of losing half of what they already know? Our brains get lazy when we don’t use them, so we have to fight back with some sneaky summertime learning! Stick around for the next great Homeschool Blogging Network series… I will be sharing with you some ways that I keep the learning fun going all summer long!

Researchers say that many kids lose 2-3 months worth of learning over the summer. We sometimes relax during summer and don’t think much about school. This summer slide may not happen in homeschools, but just being out of routine can wreak havoc in my home.
But you can sneak a little learning in there during the summer that doesn’t feel like “real” school. In this series, I will share some great links, some great printables, and lots of great tips to make summer learning fun!
Day 1: 5 Ways to Encourage Summer Reading
Day 2: Vacation Schooling- Summer Learning while on Vacation
Day 3: Best Educational Toys for Summertime Learning
Day 4: Geocaching for Summer Learning Fun
Day 5: Cooking with your Kids
Day 6: Our Favorite Games for Family Game Night
Day 7: Keep them Creating All Summer Long
Day 8: Making History Come Alive
Day 9: Our Favorite Online Learning Games
Day 10: Helping Kids Become Entrepreneurs
A bunch of my friends at the Homeschool Blogging Network have teamed up this summer to bring you 10 Days of Tips for Homeschool Moms during July. We will be posting about all kinds of great topics that will be a help to homeschool mamas!
The series will kick off Monday, July 11. We will each post a great new tip every day for 10 days, so there will be lots of great homeschool encouragement for the entire 10 days! I will post links here each day during the series, so be sure to check back here for all the great fun!

June 26, 2016 at 5:44 amLooking forward to your ideas, as a working homeschool mom I like summer to be for them to pick out whatever they want to learn about. Having a list of “back up ideas” in my mind for days off are awesome. Sometimes the “I’m Bored” kicks in.

June 26, 2016 at 9:11 pmI’m that way too. Most of my tips come from things that they have chosen to do on their own, and didn’t realize they were learning! Gotta love sneaky learning!
